Rare Lionel Set 748W w/ 763E Hudson 2226WX 4) 2623 Pass

Here is one you won't see very often. This is the components of the LIONEL "O72" prewar set No. 748W from 1941-42. It includes the great Hudson semi-scale No. 763E Steam Locomotive with its No. 2226WX whistle tender. Included, it comes with (3) prewar Madison type Heavyweight "Manhattan" illuminated passenger cars and the rare "Irvington" - all No. 2623. The set was to include a 2624 Observation - but that was never made by Lionel.

This set is in very nice condition particularly the engine. I've take a lot of pictures for you to see for yourselves, and please ask any questions. The engine cosmetically looks almost like new. The engine did run when put on a test track. The frame looks nice and straight. Missing one jewel in the headlight. Cab roof is nice with no bends. The tender also looks to be in excellent. Both come with their original boxes. The passenger cars are very nice for their age. Looks like we have some missing steps (see pictures). I have (4) additional steps I will include. Roofs look excellent, and the cars have just a few scratches as seen in the pictures. I have two boxes for the passenger cars, and they have their interior linings, but no end flaps.
