J & E Stevens Cast Iron Speaking Dog Mechanical Bank

ere is a great early cast iron mechanical bank from J. & E. Steven's designed by Charles Shepard in the late 1800s. It is called the "Speaking Dog" mechanical bank. The coin is placed on a plate held by the girl. When you press the lever the girl drops the coin into the bench as the dog barks and wags his tail. Condition on this piece is very good, as seen in the pictures. I see no breaks or cracks. Overall the orginal paint is very nice, especially on the dog. It does have some paint fading on one half of the lady figure. Also, I see that the back panel is in from its base. Will just need to be moved outward. I believe that the trap is a correct cast iron replacement. It has its key. Don't miss this opportunity to own one of these nice rare banks.

Price: $549 SORRY! SOLD!
