Lionel # 2146WS Set w/ 726 Loco, 2426W, 2625, 2627 2628

Here is one of my favorite "O" gauge passenger sets that Lionel made - Set No. 2146WS - from 1948. The set includes an extremely nice all original No. 726 Berkshire 2-8-4 Locomotive with its No. 2426W Die-cast Whistle Tender. This Loco & Tender are in excellent plus condition - as seen in the pictures. The engine is a few marks away from being like new. Still has a nice original patina. The Tender shows some wear on the high areas, and looks to be rewired. The engine runs smoothly in forward and reverse, and the tender whistles loudly. Also in this set are the "Madison" Heavyweight illuminated cars - the No. 2625 "Irvington", the No. 2627 "Madison" and the No. 2628 "Manhattan". The cars all look excellent - as seen in the pictures. The 2625 has a spot on the roof. The other cars, just have a few minor marks. The 2528 has had a wire extended on the bottom. A nice matched set. We are also including a nice 726 BOX with paper and insert, and (3) correct Passenger Car BOXES. The passenger car boxes have the typical flap issues. Some missing, most torn. They do, however, have their original inserts. I took lots of pictures for you to see all, and please ask any questions before bidding. A really nice sought after set of Lionel trains.
