Lionel #2517W 1958 D&RG Super O Freight Set NO RESThis is the original Lionel Super O No. 2517W Rio Grande Freight Set that Lionel made in 1958. This rare 1958 Set is much tougher to find than the 1957 Rio Set; as it was produced in far less quantities. This Set includes the No. 2379 Rio Grande F-3 AB Diesels with Dual Motors, Horn and Magnetraction, the No. 6519 Allis Chalmers Car, the No. 6805 Atomic Waste Disposal Car, the No. 6434 Illuminated Poultry Dispatch Car, the No. 6800 Flat Car with Airplane and a beautiful No. 6657 D&RG Caboose. Contains all the individual Boxes and the rare Set Box. Generally, this set is in excellent to like new condition as seen in the pictures (make sure you check out all the PICTURES, as I have taken many for you to see all). The power unit is very good as it shows some wear on the roof, in areas where the paint exposes the yellow mold. Particularly on the top of the domes. The front decal has some age cracks, but is all there. Some oxidation on the battery cap and pick-ups that has been cleaned. The silver on these engines it bright and shinny - almost new looking. The "B" unit is like new. It has hardly a mark. The Engine box shows some wear along the one edge, where the original tape is in fair condition. The B unit box looks nice, No insert. The cars are mostly all in excellent to like new condition. The Caboose is an outstanding like new example. The Allis Chalmers Car has its complete break wheels intact. Nothing broken. The only car with an issue is the Poultry Car which has some oxidation spots on the frame underneath. All the individual boxes have some issues. Places where tape has been peeled off, or tape on the boxes. I believe the pictures show their condition, but id you need further clarification - please ask your questions. The Set Box also shows wear. The Box is nice and sturdy, with no rips or tears, but has some of the finish off. This is a hard set, that is a keeper. Selling with NO RESERVE, however, if there is no interest I will de-list and sell the items individually. So please bid early! Buyer pays shipping.
