Lionel Prewar # 226E Steam Locomotive w/ 2226WX TenderTonight I'm offering a great set of late prewar Lionel "O" gauge trains from Set No. 291W (see bottom picture from the group - this auction is for the engine and tender only). Here is one of my favorite Lionel Steam Locomotives - a very nice prewar Lionel "O" Gauge 2-8-4 No. 226E steam locomotive, with its matching No. 2226WX Whistle Tender (the WX tender has the low couplers that fit these freight cars). This is the version with the tender having blackened journals. Engine measures 10-3/4" long not including the couplers. The engine is in excellent plus condition, the tender shows a little more wear - as seen in the pictures. The engine has been tested and it runs, well the whistle on the tender works, but makes noise. These are a beautiful pair - not to be missed.
