Lionel # 1835E Standard Gauge Loco w/ 1835W Tender

Here is a great looking engine and tender from the late 1930s. This is the Lionel No. 1835E Standard Gauge black 2-4-2 Steam Locomotive with its matching No. 1885W Tender. The 1835E chassis and motor is identical to the No. 385E with different paint and trim scheme. The loco is a large 15" long. Tender is 8" not including its couplers. The loco and tender are in excellent plus shape - as evidenced by the photos. I have not seen a better one. All original in my opinion. The latch and the engine boiler front opens fine. Both have been tested and the loco runs, but the whistle on the tender just makes a clicking noise. The engine is missing its front bell on the top of the boiler. And there is one chip in a wheel, and a small chip on a front pilot wheel. I believe the pictures tell the story - and please ask any questions.
