A Great Lionel "O" Gauge Set No. 241E w/ 260E, 710, 710, 712Here is one of my favorite prewar Lionel tinplate "O" gauge sets. This is Set No. 241E from the early-1930s. This set features the cream-striped No. 260E Steam Engine, with a black No. 260T Tender. It includes the red with cream trim and green doors No. 710, 710, 712 passenger cars, the Engine and Tender Boxes and the rare Set Box. I think you can tell from the pictures that overall this set is in very nice condition. The engine is in excellent cosmetic condition. When put on a test track it lights up and made a clicking sound. Will need some adjustment to run correctly. All original, with only minor scratches. Tender is in excellent condition. Wheels and couplers clean. The Passenger Cars look very nice. Some minor scratches as shown. I believe the pictures tell the story. However, what you can't see in the pictures is that in a few places on the cars, if held in the light, the red finish has some clear round marks on the surface. Looks like some paper or bubble wrap left an imprint in the paint. It is minor and that is why it doesn't show in the pictures. The Engine and Tender box are in very good condition. The Set Box shows some wear, particularly on the corners and has some old tape showing. Missing the boxes for the cars. This is a fine set - don't miss. Please ask any questions. Thanks. Price: $860 SORRY! SOLD!
