Lionel # 1835E Standard Gauge Loco w/ 1835W Tender OBHere is a nice looking engine and tender from the late 1930s. This is the Lionel No. 1835E Standard Gauge black 2-4-2 Steam Locomotive with its matching No. 1835W Tender. The 1835E chassis and motor is identical to the No. 385E with different paint and trim scheme. The loco is a large 15" long. Tender is 8" not including its couplers. The loco and tender are in very good to excellent shape - as evidenced by the photos. I have not seen many original engines better. The latch and the engine boiler front opens fine. Both have been tested and the loco runs, and the whistle works. The engine has a few scratches on the cab roof as pictured. The tender has a few scratches on the frame, but it is NOT warped and is original to the set. The boxes are nice with the engine box having its original insert. I believe the pictures tell the story - and please ask any questions.
