Lionel Prewar # 763E Steam Hudson Loco w/ 263W Tender Gun Metal Gray (DP)

Here is an original Lionel No. 763E NYC Gun-metal Gray Hudson Steam Locomotive with its No. 263W Whistle Tender. Cataloged in 1938. At first glance this has a real nice look, however, upon inspection you see that the shell is shot. It has a bend in the back cab roof. On the side air chambers you can see stress cracks, and a crack that someone tried to fill with glue. The front cow catcher is broken. The window mullions have been repaired. I see that someone put some notches in the frame underneath to not impede the front wheels. It is a replacement coupler pin in the rear. On the positive side the train lights up and runs in forward and reverse. The tender has a couple of issues. It is missing its whistle. The front looks like a replacement.
