Lionel No. 3494-550 Post-War 1957-58 Monon Operating Boxcar

This is the Lionel No. 3494-550 Monon Boxcar. Built from 1957 to 58 by Lionel. 6464 Type IIb opertating boxcar. Unpainted maroon body with white-painted upper band and white heat-stamped lettering. Heat stamped "The Hoosier Line" Operating plunger mechanism with rubberized man. Bar-end trucks. This car was never issued as a set, therefore is dificult to find and highly collectable. This is in very good condition - as seen in all the pictures below. Some minor oxidation on one side of the door rails. Some minor surface scratches. Some general wear. No Box.
