Lionel Prewar O Gauge Red Top Flying Yankee Streamliner Train Set 616 617 618This is the scarce uncataloged Three Piece Flying Yankee Set No. 5224W that Lionel made in the middle 1930s. This is the variation of the Flying Yankee Set with a Red Painted Top on the Power Unit and Dull Smooth-Sides to all of the cars. Contains the No 616 Engine, a 617 coach, and the 618 rear observation. Overall condition of this set very good as seen in the pictures below (please click the link above to view ALL the pictures before bidding). Engine was put on a test track and it lights up and runs in forward and reverse, however, there was some hesitation in the cycle, and the engine should be serviced to run properly. Appears to be the original red paint on the roof. The engine and cars have some nicks and scratches as pictured. The observation is beautiful. A great set - don't miss this for your collections.
