J & E Stevens Cast Iron Columbus World's Fair Mechanical Bank Nice (DAKOTApaul)

Here is a great early cast iron mechanical bank from J. & E. Steven's in the late 1892. It is called the "Columbus World's Fair" mechanical bank. Made to Commemorate the 400th Anniversary of Columbus' sailing. Place a coin in the slot at the feet of Columbus, press the lever, and as the coin disappears an Indian Chief suddenly leaps from his place of concealment in the log, extending the pipe of peace as Columbus salutes him. Condition on this piece is excellent - as seen in the pictures below - and by clicking the link above. Mechanism works well. No breaks or cracks. One of the better examples I have seen in awhile. Don't miss this opportunity to own one of these nice rare banks. Offering in AUCTION format (support the auction format!) with NO RESERVE. Buyer pays shipping (Insurance is included in the shipping and handling fees for items over $300). Please check out my other items currently listed, and save on shipping. NO RESERVE.

Price: $663 SORRY! SOLD!
