Rare 1937 Lionel 700E 4-6-4 Scale Hudson w/ 700W Tender

In my opinion, here is the ultimate Lionel prewar "O" gauge Steam Engine. Mention the New York Central Railroad's "Hudson" locomotive 5344, and most collectors think of this train. Here is the 1937 version of the Lionel No. 700E Locomotive with its 700W Tender. Black zinc ally die-cast superstructure, nickel plates, rubber stamped "5344" below the windows and on the headlight. 14-1/8". NEW YORK CENTRAL on the tender.

I believe that all the pictures below show the condition of this engine well. Overall, a very nice set. This is the 150th 700E that came off the Lionel assembly line. Serial number 010150. Condition notes: First, the engine runs in both forward and reverse. I believe the frame has a slight bend to it as the cow catcher is only about an 1/8 of an inch above the third rail. The castings looks nice and sturdy, and I see no breaks or cracks. Original paint and strong graphics on the sides (see pics). Original drawbar pin. The Tender needed a little rescue work, as one side had mold baked into the sides. I had that side professionally repainted and stamped, and saved the other side which has original paint and stamping except for a little touch up where the "T" and the "R" are located. Tender whistled when put on the track.  A great set of rare Lionel trains. Don't miss this one, and please ask any questions. Thanks.
