Lionel Freight Set # 181 w/ 262 Engine, T 812 814 817

Here is an extremely nice freight set of prewar Lionel "O" gauge trains from the 1930s - This is Set No. 181. It includes the No. 262 2-4-2 black steam locomotive, with its No. 262T Tender. It includes the following tinplate lithographed freights - a No. 812 Gondola - a No. 814 Automobile Furniture Box Car - and a No. 817 Caboose. This is the same set pictured in the 1933 catalog page 20.

These are in very good to excellent condition - as seen in the pictures. This engine is outstanding for its age, some minor paint scratches, but the black and copper really shines. Runs, but like most older engines it should be lubed and cleaned to run perfectly. The reverse lever shows in the back. Tender also is very nice overall. Missing the brass railing on the top. The freight cars are generally in very good condition - as seen in the pictures. Some scratches and paint off, particularly on the caboose - but wheels and couplers generally look good.
