Nice Lionel Train Set # 2173WS w/681 2671W 3472++ Set Box

Here is a wonderful set of Lionel "0" gauge postwar trains. Set No. 2173WS. This set was cataloged in 1950/51. This is the 1951 version of the set. It includes an extremely nice Lionel 6-8-6 No. 681 "O" gauge locomotive with an outstanding 12-wheel - 2671W tender. Also, included are the freights - the No. 6465 2-Dome Sunoco Tank Car - the No. 3469 Automatic Dump Car - the No. 3472 Refrigerator Car - and the No. 6457 Tuscan Caboose. Additionally, we have the 1951 Set Box and all individual boxes. Included is some paperwork and peripherals. All that is shown in the many pictures below. 

Condition is excellent - as seen below. The 681 loco is cosmetically beautiful. Nice full 6200 sticker on front, great original patina - overall very clean. We put it on a track and it lights up and runs well in forward and reverse. Smoke unit works. The Box is just a sleeve with both end flaps, but that's all. The tender is in excellent shape - heat stamped white Pennsylvania on the sides. Whistle works well. No breaks or cracks.  Some minor scratches and a few spots of wear. The 3472 Refrigerator Car is also very nice. Great Box with interior lining. Comes with (6) milk cannisters (one is still in the car!). The deck of the platform has some minor oxidation. All flaps intact on the box. The 3469 Dump is outstanding. A fantastic original box, complete, with lining. just a couple of minor nicks on the car keep it from grading higher. The 6465 has a spot of paint wear on one end of the chassis. Overall, the cars looks excellent. Box has some skinning on one end. The Caboose looks very good with a nice Box. The Set Box looks great for its age. Still has the price sticker. Pictures tell the story, however, please let me know if you have any questions.
