Lionel # 1835E Standard Gauge Loco w/ 1835W Tender +BOXES

Here is a great looking engine and tender from the late 1930s. This is the Lionel No. 1835E Standard Gauge black 2-4-2 Steam Locomotive with its matching No. 1835W Tender. The 1835E chassis and motor is identical to the No. 385E with different paint and trim scheme. The loco is a large 15" long. Tender is 8" not including its couplers. The loco and tender are in excellent shape - as evidenced by the photos below. I believe that the frame on the engine has been replaced and/or repainted, which is typical with these engines. The engine boiler and boiler front are all original. The Tender is also very nice, with only very minor warping to the casting that is along the two back edges. Both have been tested and the loco runs, and the whistle on the tender also works. The boxes are very nice. The Engine box has its outer insert and an insert for the side.
