Rare Lionel Set # 709W w/ 700E Scale Hudson 792 793 Rail Chief

Here is the ultimate Lionel Set from the late 1930s. This is Set No. 709W which features the Scale 700E Hudson locomotive and 700W New York Central tender with four streamliner "Rail Chief" Passenger cars -- the No. 792 forward coach, two No. 793 Pullman coaches and the No. 794 Observation Car. Comes with the Engines' original Display Board, and the Passenger Car BOXES. The engine is the 1937 version, the first year this was issued. Serial Number - 01 1694. Black zinc ally die-cast superstructure, nickel plates, rubber stamped "5344" below the windows and on the headlight. 14-1/8". NEW YORK CENTRAL on the tender. Hard to give an overall condition grade on the set, so I will break down the items individually. The engine looks great as you can see in the pictures. I see no warping anywhere. Shell has no cracks or deterioration. Nice sharp graphics, however, I do believe that they have been enhanced (maybe someone added an over stamp or touched them up. It is hard to tell, but that is my call). Also, I noticed a couple places where it has been touched up. Most noticeably on the window frames both sides.  The Engine runs in forward and reverse when put on a test track. The tender looks good, however, it does have a slight warp as seen in the pictures below. Whistle worked when tested. Appears all original. The display board is in outstanding condition. Original one-piece T-Rail Track. The Passenger Cars are all also all original and come with their BOXES. The 792 is the worst of the group as it has some paint off the roof and a slight warp to the under belly. The rest have some scrapes from usage, but as you can see from all the pictures in pretty nice overall condition. Comes with the three vestibules. Boxes are marked and in very good condition with all flaps. I believe you can see from all the pictures below what a nice rare set this is, and please ask any questions. Don't miss, buy with confidence. Thanks
