This is the No. 2217WS Freight Set that Lionel made in 1954. This Set includes the No. 682 Diecast Steam Turbine with Headlight, Smoke and Magnetraction, the No. 2046W Pennsylvania Whistle Tender, the No. 6464-175 Silver Rock Island Box Car, the No. 6356 NYC Cattle Car, the No. 3562-25 Gray Blue Lettering Operating Barrel Car and the No. 6417 Pennsylvania N5C Caboose. Includes all individual BOXES, and the rare SET BOX. All that is pictured in the many pictures below

Some notes to help with your assessment of the condition. The 682 Engine is really nice. One of the better ones I've seen in a while. All original with original white stripe down the side rails. The engine runs well in forward and reverse.The engine box is missing its flaps on one end, and has some tape residue. Includes its original insert. The tender looks very nice with some minor wear. Silver PENNSYLVANIA on the sides. No other breaks or cracks. Whistles well. Its box is brick like, in get shape, original insert. The "Route of the Rockets" 6464-175 car is in very good shape. A few minor rubs and some aging to the silver. Has the correct crossed-out 6464-50 stamped "silver" box. A very nice NYC Stock car and box. The 3562 Barrel car has some flaking of paint on top. Box with barrels included. The Caboose is like new along with its box. The Set Box is a nice one. Nice and square, firm, and complete. Buy with confidence. A nice set. Thanks.
