Lionel Set # 298W w/ 238E 265W 600 601 602 Passenger Cars (DAKOTApaul)

Here is a neat set of Lionel prewar "O" gauge Trains. Set No. 298W "The Pennsylvania Torpedo". Cataloged in 1936-37. The set consists of the gun-metal gray No. 238E 4-4-2 Locomotive with it matching 265W Whistle Tender. It pulls (3) illuminated red on red Passenger Cars - the No. 602 Baggage, the No. 600 pullman, and the No. 601 Observation. Comes with a real nice Engine Box only. This set is in very good overall condition - as seen in the many pictures below (and please click the link above to view ALL the pictures before bidding). The Engine runs in forward and reverse and the Tender whistles. All the car light up when on track. The Engine looks excellent with only some minor paint wear. The Tender has a couple of scratches but overall it looks nice. Box is nice and sturdy with Insert. One end still sealed.  The cars have that wonderful look - and will stand out on any display. The Baggage car is the worst of the three with some staining and small areas of touch-up. I do believe that the roofs are original paint. A great early set of Lionel trains, not to be missed. Thanks.
