Kyser & Rex Cast Iron Lion & Monkeys Mechanical Bank Single Peanut

Here is a great early cast iron mechanical bank from Kyser and Rex patented 7/17/1883. It is called the "Lion & Monkeys" mechanical bank. This is the version known as the “single peanut” by collectors because of the shape of the knot in the tree. It is approximately 1/2” shorter than its more common relative, the “double peanut” tree. Size is 8-1/2" high and 9" in length. The coin is placed in the monkey's hand - by moving the handle at the base it causes the monkey to throw the coin into the Lions open mouth. Action works fine. Condition on this piece is excellent, as seen in the pictures below. No breaks or cracks. Original trap, and I believe a replaced small monkey - like most of the Lion & Monkey banks. The base is really nice - all original with no touch-ups. Don't miss this opportunity to own one of these nice rare banks.

Price: $1100 SORRY! SOLD!
