High Grade Lionel Postwar #224 Engine & 2466W Tender 1946

Here is a wonderful early postwar Lionel "O" gauge No. 224 2-6-2 Steam Engine with its matching No. 2466W Whistle Tender. Comes with a set of complete brick-like BOXES. This is the 1946 version with the chrome handrails, and flying shoe coupler on the tender. This is in like new condition - as viewed in the pictures. I only see a couple of small paint nicks on the engine. It runs fine in forward and reverse. The tender also looks great. The flying shoe coupler has the brown fiber board, typical of 1946. Whistle works fine. The BOXES are what is nice about this set. Both have there original Inserts - the Engine with the double insert. The boxes are complete with no repairs. The end flaps were held down with some tape, where you can still see some residue. This is a set you should not miss. Would go nicely with the set of 2442 metal Passenger Cars listed separately.
