Lionel Early Postwar Set 2101W W/ 224 2466W 2452 2555 2457 SET BOX (DAKOTApaul)

Here is a wonderful early postwar Lionel "O" gauge Set. This is Set No. 2101W from 1946. It includes the  No. 224 2-6-2 Steam Engine with the postwar rounded back cab floor and its matching No. 2466W whistle tender. This set includes the following freights - the No. 2555 Sunoco Tank Car - the No. 2452 PRR Gondola - and the No. 2457 illuminated Pennsylvania N5 Caboose. Comes with all individual boxes w/inserts, and the hard to find Set Box. All that is pictured below. The Engine looks great, and when tested ran in forward and reverse. As you can see in the pictures (please click the link above to view), the eccentric crank is broken and the rods are loose. The parts are included but off the engine. Its BOX is missing end flaps, but does include the double insert. The 2466W, and the freights have mixed couplers. Both flying show and the staple-end trucks with a coil-operated coupler. The Tender appears to have been rewired, and whistled nicely when tested. There are NO breaks or cracks to the shell. Its box has the insert, but it is missing an interior flap on one end and the flap is torn. The 2555 Tank car has some wear as pictured. Some spots on the silver. Very nice original BOX with Insert. Both the gondola and caboose are in very nice shape with condition clear in the photos below. The Gondola box is missing its end flap. A very nice original Caboose box. The Set box was opened on the bottom, and two of those flaps are replaced and repaired. Nice original label. This is a great little set that won't disappoint. Buy with confidence. Thanks.
