Circus Bank Cast Iron Mechanical Bank Shepard Hardware NO RESERVE (DAKOTApaul)

Here is a mechanical bank you just won't see very often. This is called the Circus Mechanical bank. Made by Shepard Hardware Company Buffalo, New York – Circa 1888. To operate the “Circus Bank”, place a penny atop the small pedestal at the back of the bank. When the crank in turned it causes the clown and his cart to make a circle around the circus ring. The horse appears to gallop up and down during this rotation. As the clown approaches the penny, he raises his hand and tips the coin into the bank. This one is right out of a home - a neat find. Unfortunately, it was not kept in clean envirnoment. It was rusty and very dirty. I cleaned it some, but as you can see from the pictures it does show wear and oxidation. The clown and horse cart is in decent shape as pictured (please click the link above to view ALL the pictures before bidding). The crank looks to be a replacement. These have sold as high as $115,000 in excellent condition - but this one I am offering with NO RESERVE. Please ask any questions. Thanks. Offering in AUCTION format (support the auction format!) with NO RESERVE. Buyer pays shipping (Insurance is included in the shipping and handling fees for items over $300). Please check out my other items currently listed, and save on shipping. NO RESERVE.

Price: $2550 SORRY! SOLD!
