Lionel Standard Gauge No. 400E Loco & Tender

Wow! Here is one of Lionel's biggest and best engines. This is the No. 400E 4-4-4 black with copper trim Steam Engine with its matching Tender. This is a large and impressive piece. Made between 1927-36. This engine and tender look great and both are in excellent condition. It truly is a fantastic and collectible piece. The finish on this train is beautiful and is all original, The engine is shinny and bright. I see some minor marks and paint crackling in the finish on the top, and a few scratches on the back cab roof and cab roof side. The engine looks like it has been re-wheeled. Also, the front number boards are replacements.The front boiler plate is tight into the boiler, but does open freely. It was put on a test track, and it lights up and runs in forward and reverse. The tender is similar condition to the engine. Missing one stanchion on the top, and one is loose. Clean bottom and trucks. A very nice train - don't miss.
