WOW! Boxed Lionel Uncataloged Prewar Set # 6713WC w/ 249 2225WX 656+

Here is a beautiful boxed set of Lionel prewar "O" Gauge trains. The uncataloged Freight Set No. 6713WC from 1938. The Set includes a No. 249 Steam Locomotive with a No. 2225WX whistle Tender, both in gun-metal gray. It pulls just three freights - a No. 654 Sunoco Tank Car, a No. 656 Cattle Car, and a red No. 657 Caboose. The tender has a box coupler and the (3) freights latch couplers. It comes with all the Individual Boxes, an Instruction Sheet, and a rare Set Box.

Where do you start on this set. First I have never seen this set before. It is an uncataloged set from around 1938. Possibly from Gimbles. Priced on the side $14.95. And, what outstanding condition. These trains look like they are almost new out of the box. The Engine and Tender and freight cars are just beautiful. Nice and shinny paint, clean all over. If these were run, it might have been once or twice. Of course with any set that 77 year old it has a couple minor issues. The engine has a small mark on the back right of the cab roof (see pics). Also, one wheel is starting to show some deterioration. The Cattle Car has a small ding on the roof, and looks like it is missing one brake wheel. The individual boxes have some flaps that are reinforced with tape on the inside, and most are missing their coupler flaps. The Engine box has its original Insert. The rare Set Box has most flaps repaired and on top flap look to be replaced. Overall, a really nice set that would be a highlight to most collections. Buy with confidence. Thanks.
