Rare Lionel Set # 6517W w/ Nickeled 262, Red/Silver 610

Here is a fantastic looking prewar Lionel tinplate "O" gauge set- with a rare No. 6517W Set Box, said to be a Macy's or Gimbles Set from the mid-1930s. It features a rare nickel trimed No. 262E Steam Engine, with a No. 265W Tender. It includes the red with aluminum roof No. 610, 610, 612 illuminated passenger cars. Also, we have the individual boxes and the Set Box. I think you can tell from the pictures that this set is in wonderful overall condition. The engine runs in forward and reverse, the tender clicks, but it presently did not whistle. The cars are very pretty with just some minor paint scratches as seen in the pictures (please see all the pictures by clicking here). The engine box is missing an end flap. One passenger car box is missing an interior flap, and one is taped on. The set box is held together by tape, but is all there. Don't miss this rare Lionel Set.
