Rare Calamity Cast Iron Football Mechanical Bank J. & E. Stevens (DAKOTApaul)

Here is one of the RAREST and most sought after of all mechanical banks. This is called the "Calamity Bank" - made by J. & E. Stevens Company Cromwell, Connecticut – Circa 1905. This is an extremely scarce bank - and probably one of the first to be offered on eBay for all to obtain with no buyers premium. The bank portrays collegiate football as it was first played in the early 1900s. In this version it has two defensive tacklers that were supposedly from Yale, running down and tackling a ball carrier from Harvard with the crimson shirt and socks. The condition of this bank is outstanding for its age, complete with strong paint and no breaks or cracks. (please click the link above to view ALL the pictures before bidding).  Move the right and left tackles back to position, place a coin in the slot in front of the Full Back and press the lever. As the players come together, the coin drops into the receptacle. Mechanism works well. The only issue to point out is that both back tacklers should have blue sleeves and socks. This version has one with blue and one player with red. Condition overall looks consistent, so I am not sure if this came from the factory like this, or a player was switched at some point over the years. You won't see many like this - with the very best ones going for over $70,000. Buy with confidence. Buyer pays shipping and the shipping is high as I will insure this bank for the full amount. Please check out my other items currently listed. Thanks.
