Original Lionel Girls Freight Train Set # 1587S, 2037-500LT SET BOX ++

This set needs no introduction. Made in 1957-58 this is the Lionel Girls Train Set No. 1587S. It features the "pink" No. 2037-500LT loco, with the 1130T-500 tender. It includes the following freights - the 6464-510 NYC Pacemaker Box Car, the 6462-500 NYC Girls pink Gondola with (4) white canisters, the 6436-500 Lehigh Valley lilac Hopper, the 6464-515 MKT Boxcar, the No. 6427-500 PRR Porthole powder blue Caboose. This set comes with all its Individual Boxes, and box for the 6029 track set, and the rare SET BOX. It is missing the transformer. The condition is a solid excellent - as seen in ALL the pictures below - and I took many for you to see all. This set has a lot going for it - first this is an original Girl's Set that is legitimate, not put together. Trains and boxes are consistent in quality and appearance. Secondly, it has some very nice boxes for the cars. Only the Gondola box is missing its exterior flaps, some have minor skinning from removed tape, and a couple are missing coupler flaps. Thirdly, the trains overall have very low run time. Wheels show little wear, some look virtually unrun. Additionally, no breaks or cracks to any of the shells. The engine runs well in forward and reverse. All the trains have some minor paint wear as seen in the pictures, but very little overall. The Set Box is nice and sturdy, no tears. It does have some skinning on one end and the top. This is a very nice set overall - one you won't be disappointed to own. Don't miss. Thanks.
