Rare Wilkins Phaeton Clockwork Automobile Pressed Steel & Cast Iron (DAKOTApaul)

Here is a wonderful looking cast iron and pressed steel Phaeton open seat Automobile from Wilkins, circa. early 1900s. Wow! You will not find this toy very often. Wilkins first car made along with its horse drawn toys. This is made of pressed steel and cast iron. This one has rubber tires on the cast iron wheels. The seat, frame, wheels and figure are cast iron. Measures approx. 9" long. This is painted white with yellow details. White paint shows its typical wear - as this color paint easily came off most early toys. Rubber tires are hardened, worn, and some are broken. Wind-up mechanism on the bottom when turned moves the back wheel. This one is working fine. A rare early toy - don't miss. (last one I saw sold for $2250 at the Ward Kimball auction 2004 - see bottom picture for that listing). Offering in AUCTION format (support the auction format!) with NO RESERVE. Buyer pays shipping (Insurance is included in the shipping and handling fees for items over $300). Please check out my other items currently listed, and save on shipping. NO RESERVE.

Price: $650 SORRY! SOLD!
