Lionel Std. Gauge Brown State Passenger Set w/ 408E 412 413 414 416

Here is an extremely nice Lionel standard gauge Set from the early 1930s. This is the rare Lionel four-piece 2-tone brown No. 411E State Set. Includes the No. 408E double BILD-A-MOTOR  Electric Engine pulling the No. 412 "California" Pullman, the No. 413 "Colorado" Pullman, the No. 414 "Illinois"  and the No. 416 "New York" Observation. In 1930, this was the most expensive set Lionel made. Called "The Transcontinental Limited" it was one of the "Big Three" of Lionel Super Trains launched that year (see last picture for catalog listing).

WOW! What a great set. These are large cars, with each measuring 21" long. The set is in outstanding RESTORED condition as you can see by all the photos below.  Boy, what a wonderful restoration. Expertly done from the original Lionel State Set Trains. This restoration was completed by a craftsman. All hardware looks original, great attention to detail, with everything done exactly as the original. A couple of things to note - is has a couple of small bumps in the roofs of (3) cars, and one car is missing a handrail around the door. I do think the paint color is beautiful, but I believe it is a little different than the original. I bit more yellow in this paint. Overall In beautiful condition, and would be a highlight to any collection. The Engine has been re-wheeled, and ran nicely in forward and reverse when tested. Please take a look at all the pictures, and feel free to ask any questions. A rare and wonderful Lionel Set. Thanks.
