WOW Gorgeous Lionel Girls Freight Train Set # 1587S, 2037-500LT SET BOX ++

This set needs no introduction. Made in 1957-58 this is the Lionel Girls Train Set No. 1587S. It features the "pink" No. 2037-500LT loco, with the 1130T-500 tender. It includes the following freights - the 6464-510 NYC Pacemaker Box Car, the 6462-500 NYC Girls pink Gondola with (4) white canisters, the 6436-500 Lehigh Valley lilac Hopper, the 6464-515 MKT Boxcar, the No. 6427-500 PRR Porthole powder blue Caboose. This set comes with all its Individual Boxes, a No. 6029 track set, the white No. 1043-500 transformer, SP bottle, CTC lockon, smoke tamper, 1957 How To Operate booklet, Loco inst. sheet, Boxcar inst. sheet,1957 accessory catalog, and the rare SET BOX.

I would call this near MINT condition. The 57 pictures below detail every aspect of the set - so there are no surprises. Just look at that Engine. Maybe a tiny spot - but that is all. All cars are extremely pretty. The only blemish to mention is one scratch on a side of the purple Hopper. Minute marks on some of the others, but these could be factory. I believe the Set was run, but maybe once!?! All individual boxes and peripherals are present including some like new track. The boxes are very nice with all flaps. You will see some tiny tears to some of the tuck flaps, and there is a repaired tuck flap on the Gondola box. The set box is nice and firm with strong graphics. There are a couple places where there was some skinning that have been repaired. Also, the bottom has some repairs and shows some wear as pictured. Just a beautiful set - that should not be missed.
