High Grade Ives Lionel Set # 1614X w/ 257 257T 610, 612 Passenger Cars OBs

Here is a set that is not only fairly hard-to-find, particularly with set box, but is in outstanding original condition. Just check out these pictures - this is a WOW.

This is an Ives/Lionel transitional Set from 1931-32. It includes a beautiful No.. 257 electric steam loco with orange stripe, and its matching 257T tender. Both come with hard-to-find individual boxes. The tender box is missing flaps on one end. The Engine pulls three olive green coaches with red trim - two No. 610 Pullmans and a No. 612 Observation. These all have nickel journals and "The Ives Lines" decal above the windows. The cars are also in outstanding original condition as seen in all the pictures. All are bright and shinny with hardly any marks, and retain their original paper Ives label on underside. We also have two individual boxes for the cars, a 610 and a 612. One box is missing its end flap the other some of its interior flaps. The Set includes a Lionel "Aladdin" 5W Transformer with box (stained), and the original No. 1614X Set Box. The Set box shows some wear, but is original to the set and quite hard to find. This is one not to be missed, and would be a focus to most collections. Please ask any questions. Thanks.
