Lionel #865B 203 Switcher 1941 Freight SET 2755 2758 ++SET BOX

This is the original Set No. 865B Semi-Scale Switcher Freight Set that Lionel made in 1941. This set includes the No. 203 diecast Semi-Scale Switcher, the No. 2203B Slope-Back Bell Tender, the No. 2758 Automobile Metal Double Doors Box Car, the No. 2755 Gray Sunoco Tank Car and the No. 2757X Pennsylvania Caboose. Included are the Individual Boxes, missing the 2758 Box, (8) curved and (4) straight track and clips, No. 88 Controller and Box, Inspection slip, RCS, and rare SET BOX.

This is a hard to find set, and overall is in very nice condition - as seen in the pictures. Condition notes: The 203 Engine looks excellent - it was put on a test track and ran in forward and reverse. A good cleaning and lube would be recommended. Original paint with a nice small "203" graphic on both sides of the cab. Box has its original Insert, has some tape on the flaps and missing one interior flap. The Tender also looks very nice, with some wear on the high areas. Bell ringer worked when tested. Box is missing an interior flap and a tuck flap. The No. 2755 Sunoco Tank Car overall is in very good condition. I see the frame does bend slightly up in the middle. Decals in very nice shape but dirty. The box is outstanding with original Insert. The No. 2758 Box Car looks very good. Ends show some swelling. The Caboose is excellent, as seen in the pictures. Nice box missing one coupler flap. The RCS has hard brittle wires. The Set Box is very nice with just some minor stains. Nice and sturdy. This is a a hard set to find in any condition. Please check out ALL the pictures. Don't miss!
