Lionel Postwar No. 1431W Freight Set w/ 1684 1684W + Set BoxHere is a set of trains you won't see very often. From 1947 this is Lionel postwar Set No. 1431W. It includes a 2-4-2 No. 1654 loco with its matching No. 1654W whistle tender. The Engine pulls the following freight cars - a No. 2465 Sunoco tank car, a No. 2452X gondola and this set included a left over '46 No. 2457 red Caboose. Also, this set has a No. 1042 75-Watt Transformer, 8 sections of curved track, a No. 1019 uncoupling track section, individual boxes with inserts, and a Set Box. All that is pictured below. The Engine and Tender are in nice condition. Engine ran when tested. Tender clean, but was not tested as it needs to be wired underneath, The Boxes on those two include some nice inserts, but some flaps are missing and the boxes show wear and tears. The Tank car looks excellent. Its box is missing flaps at one end. Does have its original insert. The Gondola shows some oxidation on some of the metal parts/screws. Box is missing flaps. Caboose box is missing some flaps and a tuck flap. Original insert. The 6019 has brittle wires. Transformer has not been tested. The Set box is there, but in poor condition. Tears and no label. Overall, a nice set and with some TLC will become better. Don't miss. Thanks. Price: $193 SORRY! SOLD!
