Rare 1937 Lionel Prewar 700E 4-6-4 Scale Hudson w/ 700W Tender

In my opinion, here is the ultimate Lionel prewar "O" gauge Steam Engine. Mention the New York Central Railroad's "Hudson" locomotive 5344, and most collectors think of this train. Here is the 1937 version of the Lionel No. 700E Locomotive with its 700W Tender. The first year this was issued. Serial Number 010624. Black zinc ally die-cast superstructure, nickel plates, rubber stamped "5344" below the windows and on the headlight. 14-1/8". Rubber stamped NEW YORK CENTRAL on the tender. Condition on this train is extremely nice, and one of the better 37s I've seen in awhile. This is a nice straight, no excuse 700E. Train runs when tested. Shell is clean with nice graphics, and little wear. Frame appears nice and straight, with cow catcher approx. 3/16" above flat surface. Does not touch third rail when on the tracks. Original drawbar pin in back. Tender is also very nice. Some wear on one side, but overall a great looking 100% original tender with no warpage. What makes this set even rarer, is that it comes with its original Boxes and Display Board. The Boxes have some flap wear, but overall they look pretty good. Some packing tape on the tender box, which is missing two interior flaps. Comes with one sheet of wrap. Nice original brochure included. This is a nice original train set, surely to be the focus of any collection. Don't miss this rare and unique train. Thanks.
