Lionel Postwar Ogauge No. 2356 Southern F-3 AA Units - Nice!

Here is a pair of Lionel No. 2356 Southern F-3 AA Diesel Engines. Size is 12" not including the couplers. Made from 1954-56. Interesting set - here is my call on the pair. I believe the Powered Unit has a redone shell. Not sure, but it is stronger in paint than the non-powered. The decal looks original, but again, hard to tell. The frames have been re-painted black, so not original Southern frames. Also, both have grab rails on the front, which is not correct for a No. 2356. The engine runs well in both forward and reverse. Horn has not been tested. Just a couple of tiny scratches and rubs on the shells. But that is all. Sorry, no boxes.
