American Flyer 2-Tone Blue Pass Set 4622-6 1623 3-1621B 1622B

Here is a wonderful passenger set of prewar American Flyer O Gauge trains. This is Set No. 15 "Baltimore & Ohio" cataloged in 1938. From the catalog (included) "Complete in every detail of actual railroad construction and design. New 4-6-2 Pacific type, die cast, remote control, six wheel drive locomotive is an authentic prototype of the "President Washington" design of the B & O Railroad." The set features 4622-6 loco/tender combination with a type XV black 4-6-2 die cast Pacific steam loco and a 1623 type XIII tender, three 1621B coaches and a 1622B observation. The loco has the number 43226 below the windows. Comes with all the individual boxes, some paperwork, a beautiful original 1938 Catalog, and an unusual a set box, that has the labels on the inside.

You won't find the trains in this set in much better condition. Engine has just a couple small specks off the white stripe, and the front pony trucks show some disintegration. Tender some minor decal wear. The Passenger Cars are nice and clean with just a few minor marks, mostly on the end vestibules. Decals are in great shape - trucks and wheels clean. Boxes also look good as pictured. Some interior flaps missing, some tape, some tears, but all end flaps are there. The Engine box with an American Flyer shipping label. The Paperwork is fascinating with many rare and unique items. The Set box has some stains, and interesting is inside out, with the original labels on the inside. Still nice and sturdy. A great set from the late 1930s. Don't miss.
