Rare 1939-41 Lionel Prewar 700E 4-6-4 Scale Hudson w/ 700W Tender

In my opinion, here is the ultimate Lionel prewar "O" gauge Steam Engine. Mention the New York Central Railroad's "Hudson" locomotive 5344, and most collectors think of this train. Here is the rare late version - 1939-41 (no serial number on frame, and oil screw on the bottom) - of the Lionel No. 700E Locomotive with its 700W Tender. Black zinc ally die-cast superstructure, nickel plates, rubber stamped "5344" below the windows and on the headlight. 14-1/8". NEW YORK CENTRAL on the tender. Condition on this train is excellent  - as you can see in the many pictures below. It is a nice one. There is absolutely NO casting deterioration on any parts of the Engine. Graphics strong. It ran well in both forward and reverse. A nice straight frame and shell, with the front cow catcher sitting up nicely from the third rail. Original drawbar pin and chain. It does have a replaced boiler front, but other than that a strong Engine. The Tender is also very nice, but does have some minor warping to the shell. Great graphics, all original. Clean bottom, wheels and trucks. The whistle on the tender worked fine when tested. The wire on the pin is a little frayed towards the end, and I did see that the back coupler is missing its hinge. Comes with a rare Instruction sheet and a 5344 booklet. This will be a great display and investment piece. Don't miss this rare and unique train - sure to be the focus of any collection. Enjoy all the pictures, and let me know if you have any questions.
