High Grade 1937 Lionel 700E 4-6-4 Scale Hudson w/ 700W Tender

In my opinion, here is the ultimate Lionel prewar "O" gauge Steam Engine. Mention the New York Central Railroad's "Hudson" locomotive 5344, and most collectors think of this train. Here is the 1937 version of the Lionel No. 700E Locomotive with its 700W Tender. Serial Number 01-1647. Black zinc ally die-cast superstructure, nickel plates, rubber stamped "5344" below the windows and on the headlight. 14-1/8". NEW YORK CENTRAL on the tender. Condition on this train is excellent plus original condition. There is absolutely NO casting deterioration on any part. I believe you would be hard pressed to find a nicer '37 example. The tender shell looks excellent, both sides with strong graphics, no warping. This set includes its original Display Board, beautiful Engine Box and Tender Box and Instruction Sheet and booklet. Pictures tell the story on this rare train. Runs in forward and reverse when tested, but this will be a great display and investment piece. Engine sits a good 3/16" off of third rail. Engine has some minor wear on the sides. Display board is high grade. Boxes are brick-like and bright in color. One section of wrap shows wear. Beautiful paperwork. What can I say...a beautiful set. Don't miss this rare and unique train - sure to be the focus of any collection. Enjoy all the pictures, and let me know if you have any questions.
