Wonderful Lionel Standard Gauge Set 385E Loco 385T + 1766 1767 1768

Here is a very nice original set of prewar Lionel Standard Gauge Trains. This is the "Washington Special" set from the late 1930s which features the No. 385E Steam Locomotive with its No. 385T whistle tender in a dark gun-metal grey with copper trim. The Engine and Tender have their original BOXES. This set includes (3) original Lionel/Ives transitional passenger cars - two No. 1766 Coaches, and the No. 1768 Observation. All done in terra-cotta and maroon. This set is in very good condition - as seen in all the pictures. The Engine looks very nice. And best of all in lights up and runs well in both forward and reverse. Original dark gun-metal gray paint that is in excellent shape. Original wheels. The steam chest is original, but showing some age cracks on the bottom. Additionally, the boiler front is missing its top latch. The boiler front is extended some from the boiler possibly indicating some warpage in the frame - although it does seem to affect its running ability. The cars are also in very good original condition. Some minor spydering in the roofs, and I also notice some "old paper marks to the finish of the side. I tried to show you this in the close-up pictures but is only visiable when held at angles in the lights. The Observation is missing one hand rail, and has some scrapes to the sides. Cars did light up, one has a loose wire. Boxes are sturdy and in excellent condition as pictured. Don't miss this rare and great looking set for your standard gauge collections, and please ask any questions. Thanks.
