Lionel Silver Streak Set 279E 265E Commodore Vanderbilt 261TX 619 618 Set BOXHere is a desirable Lionel prewar O gauge chrome Silver Streak passenger Set No. 279E, circa 1935. The Set includes a No. 265E black 2-4-2 Commodore Vanderbilt steam locomotive with nickel trim, a No. 261TX tender with nickel plates, trim and journals, a No. 619 Baggage and Pullman Car, a No. 618 Observation Car, and one vestibule. This is rare in that it includes the individual boxes, plus the hard-to-find Set Box. This is a real nice looking set as seen in all the pictures. The Engine has its original cab. Nice original patina. Some minor wear. The chrome on the passenger cars is bright and shiny with a couple surface scratches. When put on a test track the engine runs well. The boxes are missing some flaps and have some repairs. The 618 box is outstanding. The Tender box is a hard one to find. The set box has one top flap with holes and the other has been reattached.
