Scarce Lionel Early Postwar # 463W 1945 Freight Set 224 2457 2458 2452

This is the rare No. 463W "O" Gauge Freight Set that Lionel made in 1945, the very first post-war set. This includes the No. 224 Diecast Steam Engine, the No. 2466W Whistle Tender - both with the blackened rails, the No. 2452 Pennsylvania Gondola, the No. 2458 Pennsylvania Double Door Automobile Box Car, and the No. 2457 Pennsylvania Illuminated Caboose. Missing the No. the No. 2755 Sunoco Tank Car. Boxcar comes with a nice original box.

In 1945 the engine had the blackened handrails, square cab floor and long drawbar. The rare Tender also had the blackened handrails in the rear. All freights have the Flying Shoe Couplers with the black fiber board. Overall, this set is in very good to excellent condition - as viewed in the many pictures. The engine overall is in good condition. It has a few wear spots, and some pimpling in the die-cast shell. It runs well in forward and reverse. The tender is also very nice for this early piece. No breaks or cracks to the shell. Whistle worked when tested. The 2458 Boxcar is beautiful. Box is also very nice, only missing one coupler flap. The Caboose has one truck that I believe is missing a slip shoe, and shell has some minor wear.  If you check out the photos you will see the condition well, and please ask any questions. A neat early postwar Lionel train.  Thanks.
