Lionel #2217WS 682 Turbine 1954 Freight Set 6464-175 2046W +BOXES (DAKOTApaul)

This is the No. 2217WS Freight Set that Lionel made in 1954. (I also listed a similar set on eBay last week - this is a different set, not the same one). This Set includes the No. 682 Diecast Steam Turbine with Headlight, Smoke and Magnetraction, the No. 2046W Pennsylvania Whistle Tender, the No. 6464-175 Silver Rock Island Box Car, the No. 6356 NYC Cattle Car, the No. 3562-25 Gray Blue Lettering Operating Barrel Car and the No. 6417 Pennsylvania N5C Caboose. Includes all individual BOXES, USC track set, some paperwork, and the rare SET BOX. All that is pictured in the many pictures.

Some notes to help with your assessment of the condition. The 682 Engine is really nice. One of the better ones I've seen in a while. Original white stripe down the side rails. The engine runs well in forward and reverse. The engine box is excellent for this box, a repair to one end flap.  Includes its original insert. The tender is also very nice. Silver PENNSYLVANIA on the sides. Also, this one has back-up light lens in rear portholes. No bulb inside. No breaks or cracks. Whistles well. Its box has some tape on one internal flap, original insert. The "Route of the Rockets" 6464-175 car is in very good shape. A few minor rubs and some aging to the silver. Has the correct crossed-out 6464-50 stamped "silver" box. A rare box in fair shape. Box is missing both coupler flaps, one interior flap is torn. One end has tape on inside, and outside. A very nice NYC Stock car and box. The 3562 Barrel car and box is complete with all periphials. The Caboose is like new, box in good shape. The Set Box has some wear, and a couple repairs to some tears into the flap creases. Buy with confidence. A nice set. Thanks.
