Lionel Freight Set # 239E w/ 260e Engine, 812 813 814 +

Here is an extremely nice freight set of prewar Lionel "O" gauge trains from the 1930s - This is Set No. 239E. It includes the No. 260E 2-4-2 black with green frame steam locomotive, with its No. 260T Tender. It includes the following tinplate freights - a No. 812 Gondola - a No. 813 Cattle Car - and a No. 814 Automobile Furniture Box Car - a No. 815 green Oil Tank Car - and a No. 817 Caboose. This is the same set pictured in the 1933 catalog (see second picture).

These are in very good to excellent condition - as seen in the pictures. This engine is very nice for its age, the green has some paint scratches, but the black and copper really shines. Original paint. Runs in forward and reverse. Has one side of its piping replaced. Tender also is very nice overall. Some paint missing where it connected to the engine. The freight cars are generally in very good to excellent condition. I believe the pictures tell the story, and if anything is not clear please ask before bidding. Some scratches and paint off, particularly on the caboose roof - but wheels and couplers generally look good. Sorry for all the pictures, but I thought you'd enjoy seeing this piece of history!
