High Grade Boxed Lionel Passenger Set 2148WS w/773 2426W 2625 + SET BOX

Here is one of the most sought after Lionel postwar passenger sets - No. 2148WS, circa. 1950. This is the harder-to-find version from 1951 where Lionel pasted on a paper label to sell the remaining inventory from 1950. This set box is unusual as it has the pasted label on one end, and the original 1950 orange label on the other. This set includes the No. 773 black 4-6-4 Hudson Steam Loco, and a No. 2426W whistle tender -  that pulls a No. 2625 Irvington Pullman, a No. 2627 Madison Pullman, and the No. 2628 Manhattan Pullman. All come in their original boxes with Inserts and Lionel Paper. Also included in the set is a UCS remote control track set, the 773 instruction sheet, smoke pellets, lube and tamper. Comes with a 1950 Instruction booklet, the "Railroading is Fun" poster, and some 1950 billboards. All that is pictured below. Enjoy all the pictures as I tried to show all.

As you can see, this set is in outstanding original condition. Used little if at all from 1951. The Engine and tender are like new. Hardly a speck. The engine box has its original Lionel paper and insert. The Tender box is the best part of the set, as it is so hard to find complete without one single tear or repair. Nice and bright with a beautiful original Insert, some marks on the finish. The Passenger Cars are really special. Nice and bright with only a couple small marks. Bottoms clean. The boxes, which are very hard to find for these cars, are in excellent condition. Nice and bright with all flaps and inserts. One flap on the 2625 has been repaired, and the 2627 has a dark spot on the outside and a small repaired tear on the other. The 2628 has some skinning on one end flap. Also, the paper included was for the most part torn and tattered, but did include two sheets, and one which is torn in half. The Set Box is square and sturdy. It does have some tape residue, a little skinning and wear as pictured. A great set - not to be missed. Please ask any questions. Buy with confidence. Thanks.
