Lionel Prewar # 1089E Freight Set w/ 1666E 2689T 2680 2679 2682 OBs

Here is a a very nice Lionel prewar O Gauge train set - the No. 1089E prewar Freight Set which features the gun-metal gray No. 1666E steam locomotive with its matching No. 2689T tender. The Engine pulls the following freight cars - a No.  2679 Pennsylvania Baby Ruth boxcar, a No. 2680 Sunoco tank car, and the No. 2682 caboose. This is a late prewar set with all cars having the ribbed box car and nickeled journals. This is an earlier set than the No. 1089W which had simulated knuckle couplers, and included a black engine and gondola, rather than the gun-metal gray engine and Sunoco Tank Car. The set includes a 1019 remote control track set, A No. 1939 transformer,  some paperwork with a rare Inspection card, individual boxes, and the rare Set Box. All that is pictured. What is nice about thois set is the outstanding condition of the trains. These look almost like new. Little wear. If you plan on running the set, the Engine will need a cleaning. The boxes all have tape on the insides as flap reinforcement, and some interior flaps replaced. Engine box has its original insert. Set box is strurdy and in great shape.
