Lionel Postwar O Gauge Set # 801 or 2257WS w/ 665 2046W ++SET BOXHere is a the Lionel postwar "O" gauge Set No. 801 (or 2257WS) from 1956. The set fetures the 4-6-4 No. 665 Steam Locomotive with its No. 2046W whistle tender with side graphics. The Engine pulls the No. 3361 Operating Log Car, the No. 6346 Alcoa Hopper, the No. 6467 Miscellaneous Flat Car, the No. 6462-125 Red Gondola with wooden barrels, and the No. 6427 Lionel Lines N5C Caboose. The set includes a UCS Control Track Set, a bottle of smoke pellets, lube and tamper for the engine, curved and straight track, some paperwork, and the Set Box. All that is pictured. The set overall is in excellent plus condition. The Engine looks great - little runtime with a like new patina. The Tender is also very nice, however, I do see a stress hairline on one side. It is hard to see, but shows when turned toward the light. The freights are in similar condition looking close to like new. The only blemish is a mark on one side of the Aloa Hopper. Overall the individual boxes look good. The Engine box is stamped 665 on a 2065 box, the tender box has tape on one end. A couple of the boxes have a small amount of tape on the inside a flap support. The set box is in nice overall condition as pictured. Take a look at all the pictures, and please ask any questions.
