Lionel 1940 Freight SET w/ 204 Engine & 654 655 RS 657

This is an original Set of Lionel Trains made in 1940. This set includes a No. 204 diecast 2-4-2 Steam Engine, with its No. 02689WX 8-wheel Tender. It also includes the following blackened journal freights - the No. 655 Rubber Stamped Box Car, the No. 654 Gray Sunoco Tank Car and the No. 657 Tuscan Roofed Caboose. Condition notes: The 204 Engine looks very nice - no breaks or cracks. It was put on a test track and ran well in forward and reverse. However, I did notice that the e-unit was fussy sometimes and needed to be turned on and off to change from forward to reverse. It did run nicely however. Nice original paint. The Tender also is in very nice overall condition. A couple of paint scrapes, and the coupler is missing its pin. It whistled well! The No. 654 Sunoco Tank Car is in good overall condition. Decals show wear. One coupler pin has been soldered in. The No. 655 Box Car looks very good. Hard to find Rubber Stamped version. All brake wheels present. The tuscan roof Caboose is in good shape. Some scratches as seen in the pictures. Its coupler pin is also soldered. A nice set for your collections. Please check out ALL the pictures before bidding. Don't miss!
